Operation Sagar Bandhu: IAF Rescues in Sri Lanka Floods 2025

India launched Operation Sagar Bandhu as the Indian Air Force airlifted stranded civilians from flood-hit Sri Lanka. IAF helicopters flew rescue and evacuation sorties, while a C-130 Hercules joined relief, ferrying supplies, medics and conducting airdrops. Crews coordinated with Sri Lankan authorities and the Indian mission for HADR support, with more sorties expected as weather allows, officials said on scene.
